Editorial team on tour

As already announced in the last newsletter, we were travelling in Austria this past weekend. Our trip took us from Bad Schallerbach via Zwettl and Traiskirchen to the Erzberg, where Thomas has visited several times. And in the meantime, he is also a supporting member of the Erzbergbahn association.

In Bad Schallerbach we visited the complex built by Joseph Ecker, which we had already featured in our magazine. It has since been expanded somewhat. As soon as this work is completed, we will report on that as well.

We then continued to the Zwettl Local Railway Association, where we were able to view an original Class 92.22 locomotive. There we had the pleasure of seeing young lads being trained in shunting and on the small diesel locomotive, in which they participated with great enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see that this association has appropriate new blood.

The next stop brought us very close to the Traiskirchen station on the Aspang Railway. We were allowed to pay a visit to LeoSoundLab's workshop, where we were able to see the workspaces and were shown one or two projects. We will be reporting on this in the next issue of our magazine.

Finally, we visited the Erzbergbahn in Vordernberg in Styria. We had previously reported that the regional government has now prohibited operation through the Präbichl and Platten tunnels, and that journeys from Vordernberg via Vordernberg Markt may now only be operated as far as Präbichl. This is causing significant losses of income and is thus threatening the voluntarily operated Erzbergbahn and with it a historically significant industrial monument.

Here are some photos from our tour, and over the next few days, after processing, a few more will follow.
