The Erzbergbahn needs support

In early August, our editor Thomas visited the club in Vordernberg, Austria, alongside the delegation from the Asian vehicle manufacturer and Tom Steiner from BMB/Bee’s Modellbahn. Even back then, it became apparent that operations might only be possible on a limited basis.

Recently, the time has come. Two striking structures of the historic track systems, the Präbichl and Platten tunnels, may no longer be used for public transport due to an order by the provincial government. This means that Erzberg station is no longer accessible and the popular Hauly trips can no longer be carried out either.

Recently, the Erzbergbahn association launched a fundraising campaign which we would like to support. In order to make necessary investments for expert assessments, reduce loss of earnings and preserve the heritage railway, donations can be made in the traditional way into the association's bank account. Another option is provided by the fundraising platform GoFundMe.

Further down we have provided more information on the donation options. The press release on the subject is also available as a PDF for reading and downloading.
