Photo shoot with Erna and Gesine

We already introduced our readers to the resolute Gesine Knesebeck in issue 33. When she recently received a visit from her bosom friend Erna Puvogel, we were there with our camera. Here are a few snapshots of the encounter, which is reported on in issue 35, page 70.

The two ladies only bear their North German names temporarily. Knesebeck is the name of a noble family from eastern Lower Saxony and the neighbouring Altmark region. Knesebeck is also a village in the town of Wittingen in the district of Gifhorn. Friedrich Puvogel (1836 - 1907) worked in my home town, the Hamburg district of Wandsbek. In the centre of Wandsbek Markt there is a small park around the Puvogel fountain named after him.
