The narrow-gauge transport wagon

New announcement from Steiner Modellwerke

Between the 01TREFF trade shows in Maarn and the upcoming fascination with model railways in Friedrichshafen, a regulation-track wagon for the transport of narrow-gauge vehicles has now been announced. The four-axle wagon was specially built to transport heavy steam locomotives of the 99.67-71 and 99.191-194 series to the distant repair yards.

The wagons without chassis were equipped with steering axles for better cornering. Of the six built, some of them are still preserved today. One of these is located at Öchsle, a line from Warthausen in Württemberg to Ochsenhausen.

The models are equipped with tracks for the 750 and 1,000 mm tracks; the buffers can be folded back 180° like the model. With the help of a boarding ramp, the car can also be driven. This ramp is currently under development and will be available later from Lokwerk Göppingen – Technischer Modellbau Klaus Weihe.

The planned edition of 80 wagons spans seven variants across different eras, starting in IIb. The model is currently still under construction and can be ordered at a pre-order price of €1,100 until January 31, 2027. From February 1, 2027, the price will increase by €100.

In addition to two images of the original, the Steiner model works have also provided us with a video showing the use of a Schellenkamp Spur-0 train, which is driven by a locomotive through an overpass.

Have fun with it!

The narrow-gauge transport car in track 0 from Schellenkamp is driven by 99 7204 via an approach ramp.
