Series 53 from BMB

First photos of an impressive „piece of gold“

Whether it would have been a class 53 or whether the road number would have started more correctly with a four remains to be seen. Every reader probably knows which locomotive is meant - an impressively large Mallet locomotive that was not realised on the prototype and was put on the H0 tracks by Märklin decades ago. Originally announced by MBW for gauge 1, the project was taken over by BMB/Bee's Modellbahn and is now increasingly taking shape.

The unpainted hand sample should have been shown at the Spur-1-Tage in Ebermannstadt, arriving on the Friday before the start of the exhibition. For unknown reasons, however, the pallet from China, which also contained the first production example of the 03.10, was left at the UPS distribution centre in Cologne. Tom Steiner (BMB) then redirected the consignment to our editorial office. UPS also took its time with this, so that the locomotives arrived in the middle of the editorial final spurt. There was just enough time for a brief introduction in the magazine. However, the photos shown here could only be taken after issue 34 had been released for printing.

Further information can be found in the printed booklet and in the BMB brochure. Here is just this much: Every buyer can have their model given any model number. There are still several master numbers starting with a four available.
