Impressions from the 2026 Garden Railway Meet

Petrus was apparently in a good mood this weekend. The event at E-Park Lauingen and the subsequent summer festival on Saturday evening took place in excellent weather with pleasant temperatures and blue skies. In the outdoor area, both the Fowler steam traction engine and the railways in gauges 5 and 71/4 Zoll made their rounds, and the 1:32 friends from Swabia showcased their remote-controlled construction and agricultural vehicles on a tent-covered layout.

Inside the Event Centre, attending retailers and manufacturers offered their ranges, and model builders delighted visitors to the gathering with their layouts in gauges 0 and 2.

Fine Models had two pre-production models of the announced Class 89.8 series with them, which we were allowed to take receipt of after the event, in order to photograph them for a vehicle portrait in the upcoming issue of our magazine. We are showing you a display cabinet picture here in advance.

At the Märklin stand, we were able to take photos of the Henschel DH 500 Ca narrow-gauge locomotive. We will also be producing a vehicle profile of this for you.
