For the modeller in us - a locomotive as a kit

While browsing the internet, we came across a French manufacturer of modelling kits that is actually known for its high-quality 1:8 scale road vehicles: IXOCOLLECTIONS.

Now, however, the shop no longer only has vehicles with four rubber-tyred wheels, but also one with a 1’D1′ wheel arrangement - a Mikado from the French SNCF, the 141-R express locomotive. This locomotive was produced in 1:32 scale, which makes it very interesting in our range. The kit consists of 746 parts, 126 of which were cast in metal.

With a length of 754 mm over buffers, the locomotive weighs approx. 4 kg. According to the manufacturer, the cab doors on the driver's cab as well as the tender compartments and the smokebox door can be opened in the finished state. The locomotive has functioning front and cab lighting and makes authentic steam locomotive noises.

IXOCOLLECTIONS makes it easy for those who are beginning modellers or do not want to paint, solder and glue themselves - all parts are already professionally painted ex works and the entire vehicle is assembled using only screws and clips. The level of difficulty is specified as beginner to advanced. The richly illustrated instructions are only available to download as a PDF or to print out. For the attractive price of €990.00, we think this can be overlooked. Especially as the car models in 1:8 are in the same price range.

Now some more pictures from the website. We do not know whether the locomotive can also be motorised.
