We had an unusual visit to the editorial office: Accompanied by Tom Steiner (BMB/Bee's Modellbahn) and our well-known author and patinier Michiel Stolp, a three-man delegation from the Chinese manufacturer presented us with the almost finished hand sample of the VT 95.
The model project announced in 2022 by Steiner Modellwerke (not related to Tom Steiner) was taken over by BMB and is now to be realised quickly. Although the hand model was still missing the glazing and some details such as the lamp inserts, we were already able to see the excellent detailing and some special features for ourselves during the brief photo session in the editorial office. For example, the roof, which is only held in place by magnets, can be easily removed. And a fully functional Scharfenberg coupling was developed especially for this project.
In addition to the versions already announced by Steiner Modellwerke, there will be many more. The same pre-order price (from €2,390 for the VT) has been extended until 20 October 2025; delivery will take place in mid/end 2026. More on this and other model details will follow here shortly. We will also report on the background and the stages of the Chinese manufacturers' tour of Germany/Austria.

„Freshly“ arrived from China: The almost finished hand sample of the VT 95, after the project was taken over by BMB/Bee's Modellbahn.

The silver centre section of the roof can be easily lifted off to reveal the interior fittings. In the series models, the folding backrests of the benches are shown in different positions.

The toilet compartment with fire extinguisher was also modelled, as were the grab rails in the entrance area behind the driver.

It is not only the numerous, precisely reproduced rows of rivets that adorn the removable roof, to which the interior lighting will also be attached in series production.

Although rarely seen, the fully detailed underside of the VT 95 model is worth more than a quick look.
The lack of glazing has one advantage: we can take a look at the detailed replica of the driver's desk without any distracting reflections.

Whilst the lamp inserts are still missing, the functional Scharfenberg coupling developed especially for this model can already be seen here. The hinged folding doors can of course be opened and closed manually.
