After our first magazine went to press in 2026, we received the announcement that the Viernheim manufacturer was producing three-axle Prussian compartment coaches of the 1904 to 1922 types. These vehicles were the most important and most frequently built passenger coaches of the K.P.E.V. Even for the DRG, 27,500 examples of the newer types with cage roof were produced by 1922.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 1945, the Prussian compartment coaches continued to be used in large numbers by both German railway administrations. The DB took the last two examples out of service in December 1962, the DR East only towards the end of the 1960s. The 3yg and 4yg conversion coaches received numerous parts such as bogies and assemblies from the compartment coaches, which continued to exist until the 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The compartment cars have a length over buffers between 38.1 cm and 40.9 cm, while the mail car has a length of 36.6 cm. All of the cars are suitable for the minimum radius of 1,394 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four classes are each issued over several eras: Era I, Era II, Era IIIa (DB), Era IIIa (DR East) and Era IIIb (DB). The price per model is \u20ac1,290 with a surcharge of \u20ac50 for finescale and PUR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
