First preview of issue 56

We will be presenting a number of the new products presented at the trade fair in Giessen in vehicle portraits in the next issue: the Swiss „Sputnik“ from Dingler, two of the new Bavarian freight wagons from Fine Models, the attractive 01.10 class express locomotive from Gauge 1 Austria and, as high-end models, the CC 14105 of the SNCF from Pesolillo and the Hbbis sliding wall freight wagon from Becker & Sohn. Another highlight is the travel report on the visit of gauge 1 manufacturers in faraway China. We also equip the editorial team's three Märklin-218s with ESU sound decoders and smoke generators and describe their configuration. Other topics include a visit to a Gauge 1 regulars' table to celebrate the 90th anniversary, the construction of an unusual shelf diorama and the manufacture of a filigree industrial fence.

The immediate availability of a model project that has just been announced is unusual: Yesterday we received a production sample of Märklin's exotic EG 507/E 70 08 locomotive, which will also be featured in the next issue. We don't yet know whether the hand model of the V 20 from KM1 will also work out. One „construction site“ that is still open for us is the Red Arrow from Märklin, whose delivery date has already been postponed several times and is currently set for May 2026.
